CG NSCDC ATTENDS 10TH AFRICAN CONFERENCE ON ONE HEALTH AND BIOSECURITY IN LAGOS.

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu ably, represented, by his Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hazmat declared, open the tenth (10th ) African Conference on One Health and Biosecurity today, Wednesday, 6th November, 2024, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hazmat, while addressing the theme of the aforementioned, conference; “From Ebola to COVID – 19 and beyond: Strengthening Africa’s Capacity to Address Emerging Global Health Security Threats,” amongst other things called, on researchers, experts and academics to develop solutions based research works, capable of solving local communities’ public health problems for instance in “Oshodi or Abule – Egba,” et al.
The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR was ably represented, at the conference, by Mr Adedotun Keshinro, the Lagos State Commandant. He was also joined, by the representatives of Military services, the Inspector General of Police and the Corps Marshall, Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ).
The Honourable Commissioner of Health in Lagos State, Professor Akin Abayomi ( Chief Host ), Dr Kemi Ogunyemi ( Host ), Special Adviser, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Mr Philip Tokunbo Wahab, the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, CON SAN, Former Governor of Lagos State, Mr Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria ( Guest Speaker ), Mr Abubakar Suleiman, Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank Limited, Professor Oyewale Tomori, Professor of Virology, Professor Folashade Ogunsola, first ( 1st ) female Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Abiodun Denloye, from the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology, Lagos State University, Dr Ayodotun Bobadoye, Chief Operating Officer Global Emerging Pathogens Treatment Consortium ( GET ) and many other highly revered dignitaries from the health sector and other walks of life.
