48-year-old businessman, Chukwu Reuben Okorie, has become the third winner to be presented with a three-bedroom house in the ongoing Globacom’s Festival of Joy promotion.
The Abia State born Okorie, who couldn’t process the sudden change of fortune, kept begging Glo staff at the presentation of the keys to the house to him on Friday to jolt him back to reality as winning a house in such a manner could only have been in a dream.
He said, “this is too good to be true. This is too much for me to contain. Oh my God, oh my God”, he kept screaming and jumping up for joy.
The Festival of Joy promo is Globacom’s way of giving back to its customers for staying loyal to the company.
The Regional Manager, Globacom, North Central, Mr. Kazeem Kemi Kaka, disclosed that the realization that shelter is one of the key needs in life fuelled Globacom’s desire to help some of its subscribers “own houses of their own through the promo.
“This kind of prize is unprecedented as no brand has ever offered or presented such to its customers before”, he said.
20 such lucky house owners will be created during the duration of the promo, while 24 subscribers will win Kia cars. Thousands of subscribers will also win other prizes such as power-generating sets, sewing machines, and rechargeable fans.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries including the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Mrs. Mariam Imam, who disclosed that the commission was pleased with Globacom’s transparency in the promo and had fully endorsed it.
Also at the occasion, the Director General, National Council of Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, who was Special Guest of Honour, noted that such empowerment schemes from Globacom will help reduce criminal activities in the country.
“Globacom has consistently displayed concern for the plight of common Nigerians. We are proud of the company as well as its Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr.”, he added.
